I am currently reading a book called The Attributes of God. I finished a chapter on God's mercy. Tozer talked about the need to "comassionate" to activly be compassionate towards one another. To do that you come down to their level and suffer with them, as Christ did with us. Tozer was complaining that the English language fell short of words to explain compassion and mercy as what they truely are. Perhaps he would like Russian. The Russian word for Suffering is stradaniye and the word for compassion is sostradaniye. If you break it down the prefix so means with. Compassion really means with suffering.
The richness of the Russian language amazes me at times.
