Today I went on a long adventure. This morning Zenya, Rufina, and Rufina's son Slava, and I headed out of town. Our destination was a village called Bogogorodskaya 30 kilometers out of town. Ibez, a women in our church, is in the hospital in Bogogorodskaya. We left at 9am and made it to the outskirts of town a little before 10 which meant we should have arrived at the hospital around 10:30. At 11 o'clock I informed Zenya and Rufina that we had traveled 70 kilometers. No one had told me the way, I was completely relient upon them. They instantly started making phone calls and we pulled over. After a dozen U-turns and advice from countless strangers we were more lost than ever. We realized we were half way to Moscow and had no idea what to do. Slava asked if we were lost and we said yes. His response "well we know we're somewhere in Russia."
Eventually a very kind man took pitty on us and we followed him part way and then he gave us clear directions. When me made it to Bogogrodskaya we stoped another 5 times to ask directions to the hospital. We finally made it to the hospital and then on foot we walked from building to building trying to find the correct wing. Finally around 1:30 we found Ibenez. It was good that we went to visit her. She isn't doing good and she needed encouragement and prayer. Plus the doctors gave us two biopsys to take with us! Can you imagine! We drove back to town, a full 30 minutes, with two flim sized containers full of parts of Ibenez's insides. They even started leaking blood in the car. The containers are going to stay in Zenya's refrigerator tonight before she takes them to the hospital here tomorrow.
Well it wasn't our day. At least we made it home safe and I don't have parts of Ibenez in my refrigerator.

O Sarah, that was a true Russian adventure. It is so gross and tragic you can only laugh. If nothing else the laughter is a stress reliever.
