Today is victory day in Russia. I met some friends in a newly remodeled park near my house. There were plenty of interesting things for the kids to play on but playing wasn't what interested me. There were WWII vets walking through the park proudly wearing all of their medals. Other people were wearing orange and black striped ribbons as a reminder of all of those who fought in WWII. It is the same ribbon that was used for the medals. Hear WWII is known as the great patriotic war. Throughout the park there were prefomances going on for all the veterans and a special meal was being prepared. People were giving red carnations to the veterans. Varrious people would go up to a veteran and tell him thank you. Thank you for fighting for Russia. The men in return with light up with gratitude and give a blessing back. I love the respect of the Russian culture.
In America Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day are comming up. I am going to thank those in my family who have fought and served. If I leave someone out I am very sorry. Thank you for fighting for America.
