Plov

Sunday was Easter here in Russia. We met at our new church building. The building isn't completed but we meet there on special occasions. After church we had a potluck outside. Russisans do potlucks differently. We all brought salads, drinks, desserts, and bread and took it all into one room. Then some ladies divided everything up equally and set them out at varrious long tables. Everyone stands arround the long tables to fellowship and eat. The men of the church provided us with plov, pictured above. It is a Russian/Central Asian rice dish that is wonderful. It has rice, meat, carrots, garlic, and lots of oil. They make it in a huge pan that looks similar to a wok. It takes a few hours to prepare. I think it is worth it. If you're ever in Russia you'll have to try it.

Our church did plov on Easter as well!!

It was an Uzbek version with chickpeas added in along with the other ingredients you listed... I agree with you that everyone should try it!
